There is a point after strain when the body begins to let go.
Not because everything has been resolved, but because holding everything in place is no longer possible — or necessary.
Release sits in that moment.
The figure opens rather than contracts. The head falls backwards, the throat is exposed and the body seems to move with rather than against itself. There is still tension in the line, but it is no longer carrying the same weight.
For me, this piece is about what happens after prolonged effort: when bracing softens, control loosens and something that has been tightly held is finally allowed to move.
Throughout Between Forms, the body shifts between states of strain, fragmentation, uncertainty and return. Release is not quite a return to form. It is the space that makes returning possible.
Sometimes letting go is its own form of movement.
